Terms of service

The rules we operate under and what you agree to by using TrustBadger. Short and in plain English.

Last updated 21 April 2026

1. Who we are

TrustBadger is provided by HIPPOGLOW LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as “TrustBadger”. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at hello@trustbadger.app.

These terms are a contract between you and HIPPOGLOW LTD (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them. If you disagree, don't sign up.

2. What TrustBadger is (and isn't)

TrustBadger is a record-keeping tool for UK co-owners of residential property. It lets you and your co-owner log financial contributions (deposits, mortgage payments, improvements, etc), see an indicative beneficial-share split based on a configurable formula, and export a dated PDF of the record.

TrustBadger is not legal advice. It is not a Declaration of Trust, and the PDF export is not a legal instrument. The signed deed you hold with your solicitor remains the legal source of truth for any beneficial ownership split. For anything binding, speak to a solicitor.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over, have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, and use TrustBadger in the UK. Accounts are for individuals, not businesses.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for any activity on your account. Let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed it. Accounts are non-transferable.

5. Free trial

Every new account gets a 14-day free trial, with no card required. During the trial you have full access to the app, including the PDF export. After the trial, your records remain visible but become read-only until you subscribe. We do not delete your data when the trial ends.

6. Subscription and payment

The subscription is £19.99 per year, inclusive of VAT where applicable. One subscription covers both the subscribing user and their co-owner on every property.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. By subscribing you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide.

Subscriptions auto-renew annually on the anniversary of your first paid charge, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Manage subscription link in Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and the app goes read-only after that.

We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice. If you disagree with a price change, cancel before it takes effect.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Because you have a full 14-day free trial before paying anything, our subscriptions are treated as services you've evaluated before purchase. By subscribing, you agree that the service begins immediately and (in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) you lose the statutory 14-day cancellation right for distance services from that point.

As a goodwill gesture, if something is obviously wrong or the charge was a mistake, email hello@trustbadger.app within 14 days of the charge and we'll look at a refund case-by-case. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are unaffected.

8. Your content and data

The property addresses, amounts, dates and notes you log are yours. We store them on your behalf so you and your co-owner can see the same record. We do not sell them, use them to train AI models, or share them with third parties beyond the processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you log and for having the agreement of your co-owner to share a record. We don't verify amounts against bank statements, mortgage records, or receipts.

You can export your data at any time from the app. If you delete your account we delete your records within 30 days (minimal billing information is kept for 7 years to comply with HMRC requirements).

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to harass, defraud, or harm someone else.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or try to interfere with the service.
  • Upload anything unlawful, infringing, or that contains personal data of people who aren't your co-owner.
  • Use the app to give legal, tax, or financial advice to others.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. In serious cases we'll preserve audit records to assist any investigation.

10. Our responsibilities and limits

We'll make reasonable efforts to keep TrustBadger available and to protect your data. Occasional downtime for maintenance or fixes is normal; we don't guarantee 100% uptime.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of TrustBadger is capped at the fees you've paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of profit, or for outcomes of legal, tax or financial decisions you make based on what you've logged.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited.

11. Intellectual property

TrustBadger, its name, the badger illustrations, the code, and the rest of the look and feel are owned by HIPPOGLOW LTD. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service while your account is active. Your own content (what you log) remains yours.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or an in-app notice with at least 14 days before they take effect. If you disagree with an update, you can cancel before it applies.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes that can't be resolved by a friendly email first will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
